We can’t transfer or copy commercially produced films or TV shows — those are protected by copyright law.

If you’re not sure what’s on a tape, we can inspect it for £2 per tape.

If a tape has a mix of personal and recorded material, we’ll convert just the personal parts — because sometimes a TV recording accidentally captures something truly meaningful.

Everything is handled by hand in our studio, using professional equipment and careful techniques.

Our in-studio turnaround time is typically 5–10 working days from the day your items arrive.

Larger orders, damaged media or rare formats may take a little longer, but we’ll always keep you updated.

We’ll message you when your order is received, and again when your conversions are ready.

If a tape is too damaged to recover or doesn’t meet a watchable standard, you won’t be charged for that tape.

We always try gentle cleaning and repair first. If recovery isn’t possible, we’ll explain what we found and return your item safely.

Yes — and we do this every day.

We carefully remove mould by hand using safe, specialist methods. Sometimes mould damage runs too deep to get a perfect result, but we’ll always do everything possible to recover your footage.

If the tape still can’t be made watchable, there’s no charge.

Yes — tape repair is included.

Snaps can happen when reels fuse together from age or mould, or from mechanical issues. We’ll repair what we can and continue the transfer safely.

If the damage is too severe to recover, we’ll let you know — and you won’t pay for that tape.

We don’t make creative edits. Your footage stays exactly as filmed.

However, if your tape clearly switches from something personal (like a wedding) to something unrelated (like a TV show), we’ll trim off the non-personal parts so you’re not paying for content you don’t want.

That’s one of the benefits of working with a family-run team: we actually look at what we’re converting.

You can drop them off or post them — whichever suits you best.

Local drop-off (by appointment):

Bring your tapes in person and have a quick chat. We’ll log everything, label your items, and confirm when they’re ready for collection.

Postal orders:

Use a tracked postal service and share the tracking number with us. We can’t take responsibility for items lost in transit, but once your parcel arrives, we treat it as if it were our own family’s memories.

We return postal orders using Royal Mail Tracked 48.

While we can’t accept responsibility for lost shipments, you’ll already have your digital download link, so your memories are safe.

If we’re returning USBs or DVDs and they get lost, we’ll recreate and resend them free of charge.

To save on postage, you can choose not to have your original tapes returned.

Local drop-offs:

You’ll get an email when your transfers are ready. We’ll book a collection appointment, and you can pay before or at pickup with cash or bank transfer.

Postal orders:

Before we send your finished items back, we’ll email you an invoice for payment by bank transfer.

Once payment clears, your order is posted safely back to you.

Every conversion includes a free digital download (available for 3 months) so you can safely save your footage. These are MP4 and ofter 720p.

Optional extras:

• USB stick: add £10 total (all footage on one USB)

We recommend digital files for long-term storage and back ups, rather than DVD — but understand some people still love the simplicity of a disc and having some thing physical to hold.

Yes. We keep your digital files securely for 3 months after delivery.

After that, it’s your responsibility to back up your footage.

We recommend saving it to multiple devices or cloud storage for long-term safety.

Yes - absolutely. Unless you choose not too. In which case we can dispose of it for you.

Almost everything — but not quite.

We only convert personal, family, and event footage. We don’t convert copyrighted movies, TV shows, or any footage that breaks the law.

If we come across anything that appears illegal or shows criminal activity, we’ll stop work immediately and report it to the police.

Our service is all about preserving memories — never anything harmful or unlawful.

All work is done on-site by Matt and our family team — nothing is ever sent away.

We label, track, and store everything carefully while it’s with us.

From the moment your tapes arrive until you hold your digital versions, they’re treated with the same care we’d give our own family’s footage.

• Around 99% of tapes we receive are successfully converted.
  
• We offer a £2 inspection service if you’re unsure what’s on a batch of tapes. If you choose this service, it simply allows us to check if it's home footage, or something recorded from the TV - like a movie or a tv programme. If it's recorded from the TV we will not convert it and you just get charged the £2. If it is home footage, then we will convert it at the usual price and you do not get charged the £2.

We don’t watch or report on the specific content of the tapes (for example, whether it’s a wedding, birthday, or holiday). The inspection only determines whether the footage is home or family footage or not.

Without these checks, we’ll simply convert every tape we receive, as long as it’s allowable within the law.
